Plastic gone crazy

Plastic is choking our oceans

Plastic is not only choking our oceans it is damaging the health of our children.

In a study of young children, ages six to nineteen, the chemical phthalate was found to raise blood pressure reported by The Journal of Pediatrics.

Phthalates damage the surfaces of arteries by oxidative stress.  These chemicals enter the food chain through plastic gloves and wrappings, cosmetics and PVC flooring for floors.

Experts feel that they have an effect on the cardiovascular health of children.

Plastic's negative effects

Negative effects of plastic

Evidence strongly urges that heat makes plastic products and plastic wrap leach into the foods we eat.

Studies have shown that this heat effects the rate of transfer up to fifty five percent.  Do not use cling wrap or plastic containers to heat food in the micro wave.

Since manufacturers are not required to list how they make their product it would be best to avoid all plastic wraps!

Instead of using plastic to heat foods use glass or ceramic containers.  Or place a paper towel over the food.
